I'm still not a writer. Maybe one day I'll look back on all this and go "Hey. What the fuck happened to me being a writer?" Welcome to my small dark patch of real estate. I currently play host to a delicious medley of crises in my personal life. For my business facade, I'm a data backup engineer, a golden child of technology hidden among the rusted punchcard pushers of yesterday. I do disaster recovery, which is ironic since I live in a disaster zone. I am a proud citizen of the city of New Orleans. My home and my heart belong to the Crescent City. If I were a more sane individual, I would have packed wife and three kids, and high-tailed our asses to more opportunistic climes, say, anywhere but the Republic of New Orleans. But living here is loving here. So we live, learn, and work all in the city limits, one happy New Orleans family. If you want my opinion on the conditions of the Gulf Coast, I am more than happy to discuss or debate you on any point you'd like, but in the end, you just need to know that I'm right. So let's just get that out of the way now. I did not vote for Mayor Nagin and if you ask me why you're going to get a very long, overly-emphatic reply, plus a seething opinion of his current performance. The failure of our city, state and federal governments appalls me to no end, and no public official is spared my wrath. The people in this city are recovering on their own, with none of their help, thankyouverymuch. Wanna know why we're screwed? Start the blame at the top.
